integrated scientific research entity carrying out comprehensive research to create reactors for nuclear power facilities of diverse applications. Over 120 designs of various nuclear systems for civil and defense purposes have been developed under the SSC RF-IPPE scientific supervision and with its participation.

Fast reactor research is a high-priority line of the IPPE activities.

The Center has at its disposal unique up-to-date experimental facilities for research works in the following areas:

nuclear physics, reactor and n, γ-shielding;

laser and plasma physics;

thermophysics, gas, plasma, and hydro-dynamics and coolant technology;

radiation damage physics and material irradiation science;

nuclear and radiation safety.

The Center renders services in the R&D areas listed above.

Production

reactor isotopes – pharmaceutical and technical,

polymeric track membranes,

aerosol filters to clean the air from solid toxic and radioactive aerosols.

Contract-based production

VVER reactor primary coolant leakage control systems;

heat pipes for nuclear power industry, space exploration, metallurgy, glasswork industry, agriculture;

autonomous sources for power supply and heat sources used as cathodic protection stations for gas mains.

Preparation for production

analytical track membranes for microbiological monitoring of potable water,

household free-flow water filters.
